VAN WERT - The Ada swim team competed in a double dual meet at Van Wert this past Thursday.

The purple and gold females defeated Elida 49-41 to post the Ada win on the evening.

The Ada boys lost to Elida, 64-28.

The VW girls beat the Lady Bulldogs 58-36, and the Ada boys fell to the Cougars by a 52-37 count.

Ada junior Klava Katayama won the 400 freestyle race, and also took first in the 100 butterfly. Junior Sidney Gossard and sophomore Paige Cole also posted first-place individual wins.

Bulldog junior Isaac Spar captured first in the 200 individual medley and 100 fly races. Seniors Brice Ferguson and Austin Amburgey also took firsts against the host Cougars.

VW beat the Elida girls but lost to the Elida boys, 57-34.
