Village considering annexation
By Monty Siekerman
The Village of Ada is considering annexing some property on the east side of Ada, which should be welcome by renters of East Side Apartments. If annexed, those who live in the four-building complex will have their water bill cut in half.
Presently, the renters of the 12 units pay double the water bill compared to those who live in the corporation. Apartment owner Dennis Kimmet asked for annexation. While at it, the village will also annex some land where the new water treatment sits. Presently, part of the facility is in the village and part is outside.
In addition, three properties between the apartment complex and the present corporate limit will be annexed. The annexation is expected to be complete by spring for the area, which is located north of East Lincoln Avenue.
