NORTH ROBINSON - The Ada swimmers posted several personal-bests at the North Central Ohio Swimming League championship meet hosted by Colonel Crawford Saturday.

Ada junior standout Klava Katayama captured first in the 50 freestyle and 100-yard butterfly races. She set league meet records in each event and scored 32 of the 82 Lady Bulldog points.

"Klava won both of her events and broke the (league) records for both as well," noted Ada head coach Stephanie Steiner. "We had more personal-records from Melina (Temple) and Bella (East) in both of their events at the meet as well."

The purple and gold girls finished fifth out of eight teams, while the Bulldog boys came in seventh out of eight squads.

Colonel Crawford edged Upper Sandusky to grab the girls team title, while Upper Sandusky captured the boys league crown handily.

Junior Isaac Spar took fourth in the 50 free and second in the 100 butterfly to score 24 of the 43 Bulldog boys points.

"Both were great swims," said the coach.

Sophomore Paige Cole placed sixth in the 100 butterfly and seventh in the 100 breaststroke to set personal-bests and tally 16 points.

Junior Hunter Wells placed fifth in the 200 free and 10th in the 100 backstroke to total 19 points. "He had a huge time drop for a PR in the 200 free," noted Steiner.
Junior Sidney Gossard placed seventh in the 100 backstroke and ended up 10th in the 100 freestyle to score a dozen points.

Gossard, Olivia Hiester, Cole and Katayama combined to finish fifth in the 200 medley relay as well. Hiester finished 13th in the 100 breaststroke.
