Barbara Boedicker was active member of Grace Gospel Church
Barbara J. Boedicker, 70, died on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at 2:31 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on March 8, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to Charles and Betty (Anspach) Shadley. Her father preceded her in death and her mother, Betty, survives in rural LaFayette. On July 5, 1969, Barbara married Michael A. Boedicker and he survives in Ada.
Barbara was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Gospel Church, Ada. Barbara was the director of the kid’s club, Coached By Christ, at the church. She was a Cub Scout Leader she helped in having the family recognized as Scouting Family of the Year in Hardin County. She was a 1966 graduate of Allen East High School. Barbara was an avid writer and poet, she loved reading and studying the Bible.
She is also survived by her four wonderful children: Alissa (Chad) Musgrave of Ada, Trent (Charity) Boedicker of Ada, Patrick (Sasha) Boedicker of Spencerville and Matthew Boedicker of Bloomdale; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, Steven (Stacey) Shadley of Temecula, Calif.; and two sisters: Joyce (Jerry) Myers of Streamwood, Ill., and Carol (Roger) Motter of Harrod.
Barbara was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angel Clevenger, and a brother, Charles “Chuck” Shadley.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call Monday, Jan, 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Gospel Church, 321 North Gilbert Street, Ada, Ohio 45810.
