Four ONU groups to attend vet resource and health fair
A Veterans Resource and Health Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday March 21, at the Hardin County District Library, 325 E. Columbus St., Kenton.
There will be VA representatives from the VA Hospital, the local County Veteran Service OfficerSteven Gossard, Vet Center counselor,
and representatives from Ohio Northern University, including the College of Pharmacy, the Department of Nursing, 4 Paws for Ability and ONU Healthwise.
• The Department of Nursing will provide BP, BMI, and vision screenings, along with wellness education.
• The College of Pharmacy will offer lipids screening, skin scopes, and bone density screening.
• 4 Paws for Ability will provide service-dog-in-training demonstrations.
• ONU Healthwise will provide free prescription drug disposal bags.
The County Veteran Service Officer will be available to review VA Benefits, the claim process, recent changes in the appeal process, and information concerning emergency financial assistance for veterans (county residents) who are in financial crisis. The Vet Center representative will provide free PTSD and bereavement counseling to combat veterans and family members.
Sponsors of this event are the American Legion Post 198, the Hardin County District Library, VFW Post 1182 and Auxiliary, the Hardin County Veteran’s Service Commission and Ohio Northern University.
