Kikuko Hollan was born in Yokohama, Japan
Kikuko T. Hollan, 87, died on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 3:47 p.m. at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton, Ohio.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1932 in Yokohama, Japan to Tomo and Kichi Takahashi who preceded her in death. On Dec. 28, 1956, she married Abe Hollan on in Yokohama, Japan. He died March 23, 2005.
Kikuko worked for 15 years as a seamstress for Elder Beerman in Lima. She also worked at the the U.S. Army Yokohama Ordnance Depot #229. She met her loving husband of over 60 years, Abe Hollan, in Japan, having her first date with him with an interpreter present.
She is survived by one son: Michael (Derisa) Hollan of Kenton and one daughter: Janet Hollan of Kenton. Also surviving is her brother, Nobuyuki Takahashi in Japan; and four grandchildren: Jennifer Hollan, Ryan (Cayla) Baughman, Shelby (Branden) Shape and Mikayla Hollan and 7 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Ernest Manns officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call Monday, March 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until the time of the service on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
