Ada netters win forfeit
By Cort Reynolds
After two cancellations, heavily-favored Ada was awarded a forfeit win over Celina in the first round of the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association duals tournament Sunday.
The Ada/Celina match was postponed April 20 and April 25 by inclement weather, and the first round had to be completed by April 28.
The win improves the Bulldog record to 12-4, a single-season program record for most wins. It also advances Ada to a second round OTCA rematch in the northwest region vs. Clyde at a date TBA.
Last year, Clyde edged the Bulldogs 3-2 in the second round of the OTCA tournament at Ohio Northern.
An Ada win over Clyde would likely set up a third-round match vs. state-ranked Ottawa Hills, which beat the Bulldogs 5-0 earlier in April at ONU.
