Barbara Brim 1931 - 2019
Barbara Walker Brim, 87, of Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Ada and Indianapolis, died at her daughter’s home at 8:58 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019.
Barbara was born April 16, 1931, in Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of George M. and Geraldine (Root) Walker. In 1954 she married Ward J. Brim who died Dec. 18, 2002.
She was a graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing (R.N.) and Bulter University (B.S. and M.S.) in Indianapolis. She retired from nursing in 1964 and began a career in education. After teaching in the Indianapolis Public School System, she moved to Ohio and taught 3rd grade for 22 years at Hardin Northern School in Dola. Retiring from Hardin Northern in 1988, she served as an educational consultant to home-educating families and to children with special needs.
She is survived by her daughter Marissa L. Osborne (Paul) and six grandchildren: Emily, Lydia, Abigail, Jonathan, Catherine and Ruth Anne Osborne.
There will be no services for Barbara. As a nurse, it was her desire to donate her body to benefit student research and education in the medical field.
