Dominique no-hits, slugs Paulding past Ada

The Ada softball team made the long trip to Paulding and did not get a hit in a five-inning 11-0 loss to the Lady Panthers in Northwest Conference action Monday.
Paulding hurler Haylee Dominique did not allow a hit or a walk to a Lady Bulldog. But she committed two of the team's three errors to cost her chance for a perfect game. She struck out six.
At the plate Dominique also stood out as she belted two home runs, drove in five runs and scored twice.
The contest was shortened to 4.5 innings by the 10-run rule.
Panther Gabbie Stallbaum hit a double, singled and had two runs batted in. Asia Arellano hit a double, singled, scored twice and had one RBI. Leigha Egnor contributed two hits, a run and one RBI.
The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 8-9 and 0-5 in NWC play with the defeat, while Paulding improved to 11-3 and 4-1 in league play with the victory.
Paulding jumped ahead with five runs in the bottom of the first inning, then added three more scores in the second. They plated three runs in the home fourth to finish the scoring.
Ada sophomore hurler Leona Dalton struck out three and walked two in four innings.
The Panthers out-hit the Bulldogs, 10-0.
Ada left three runners on base while Paulding stranded only two. The Bulldogs made four errors and the Panthers committed three miscues.

The Lady Bulldogs (7-4 home) are scheduled to host Hardin County rival Kenton (1-13) Wednesday, April 24.
Ada resumes league play at winless Spencerville (0-15, 0-5 NWC) Thursday, April 25.
