ONU goalkeeper OAC defensive player of the week
Junior goalkeeper Kelli Hill (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the April 8-14 voting period, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Last week, the Worthington native rewrote the school record books with a program-best 22 saves on a 62.9% save percentage in a 13-7 loss to Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday. She went on to secure 14 saves on a 77.8% save percentage in an 18-4 triumph over Marietta, guiding ONU to a 1-1 record on the week.
In two games, the junior posted an 8.5 goals against average and a 69.7% save rate. She also contributed three ground balls and caused a turnover during the span.
With the announcement, Hill garners her first career Ohio Athletic Conference weekly honor and the first recipient for Ohio Northern this season.
The Polar Bears (7-6 Overall, 3-2 OAC) will return to action on Friday afternoon when they travel to Capital. Game time is slated for 2 p.m.
