ONU Wind Orchestra presents “Give Us This Day”
The Ohio Northern University Wind Orchestra, with Antoine T. Clark as conductor, will present a concert, “Give Us This Day,” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26, in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.
The program will explore concepts of origin, joy, celebration and awareness through the music of Andreas Makris, Alexander Arutiunian, John Barnes Chance, J. S. Bach and David Maslanka.
As stated by Maslanka, “the words ‘give us this day,’ from the Lord’s Prayer, touch the idea of being immediately and vividly alive in the moment, the reason why music making can be so vital and compelling.” Dave Kosmyna, ONU professor of trumpet, will be the featured soloist.
The ONU Wind Orchestra performs collegiate- and professional-level literature for wind ensemble. Membership is by competitive audition.
Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for ONU faculty and staff, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Phone orders are accepted with American Express, MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling 419-772-1900. Tickets also are available online.
