Robert W. “Bob” Joyce 1934 - 2019
Robert W. “Bob” Joyce, 84, died on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at 12:20 p.m. at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1934, in St. Marys, Ohio, to the late Harry and Mary Ruth (Harding) Joyce. On Feb. 27, 1976 Bob married Ora E. Allen Harpster and she preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 2014.
Bob retired as a Millwright, he formerly worked at a paper mill in St. Marys, Clark Equipment, Lima and UAP in Forest. He also was a greeter at Walmart in Kenton.
He is survived by his five step daughters: Sally Cozad of Kenton, Myra (Doug) Risner of Belle Center, Francis Kay Gilbert of Harrod, Joyce (Gary) Rostorfer of Harrod and Karen (Bob) Metzger of Theodosia, Mo.; step son-in-law, Joseph Stephens of Belle Center; 14 step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step daughter, Linda M. Stephens; and step grandson, Joseph P. Stephens II; three brothers: Harry, Lester and John Joyce; and three sisters: Winona Lyninger, Virginia Kettler and Mildred Schoonmaker.
Friends may call 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 26, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. A graveside service will follow the visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 26, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, State Route 235 S, Alger, with James Kidd officiaiting.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, P.O. Box 38, Ada, Ohio 45810 for the benevolence of the family.
