VAN WERT - The Ada swim team competed in a double dual meet at Van Wert this past Thursday.
The purple and gold females defeated Elida 49-41 to post the Ada win on the evening.
The Ada boys lost to Elida, 64-28.
The VW girls beat the Lady Bulldogs 58-36, and the Ada boys fell to the Cougars by a 52-37 count.
Ada junior Klava Katayama won the 400 freestyle race, and also took first in the 100 butterfly. Junior Sidney Gossard and sophomore Paige Cole also posted first-place individual wins.
CRIDERSVILLE - Host Perry started fast and ran past former NWC foe Ada 68-39 in non-conference boys basketball action Saturday night at Cridersville.
The Bulldogs fell to 0-6 with the defeat, while the Commodores improved to 5-1 with the victory.
The Commodores raced to a 26-13 lead after the first quarter, and Ada inched to within 32-20 at intermission. But Perry pulled away for good on the strength of a 23-9 third quarter.

A flexible quarter-sized device, Linx is currently the only medical device approved by the FDA as a safe and effective treatment for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD). Surgeon Jason Bowersock, MD, will implant the device during a Monday procedure.
