These may not be familiar names in Ada today, but in 1904 they were the familiar faces on Ada's Main Street.

Peacock Water, with local offices in Kenton and Lima, celebrate its 60th anniversary July 18-20.

The Peacock Water conditioning story began in Marion in 1906 when brothers Albert and Jim Peacock founded Peacock Brothers Plumbing.

In 1953, the brothers entered into the water conditioning business. This new business was named Servicesoft, and then changed to Neldon Peacock and
Sons, Inc. Now in its fourth generation, Peacock Water currently employs over 50
people in six offices.

Ohio Northern University will host a Summer Open House for prospective students on Monday, July 26.

Intended for high school students in the class of 2014, this program presents an excellent opportunity to explore Ohio Northern. Participants will have the chance to learn about ONU’s unique blend of quality liberal arts and professional programs as well as the abundant, diverse opportunities available to ONU students.

The IRS.gov website is a great resource for free tax help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our many online tools can help make it easier to file and pay your federal taxes.

You can also learn about filing options, check the status of a refund, print tax forms and find out how to contact the IRS.

Here are twelve good reasons to visit IRS.gov this summer.

1. Use the Interactive Tax Assistant.  This tool is a tax law resource that covers a number of topics. The ITA is easy to use as it leads you through a series of questions and provides responses to your tax law inquiries.

President Myrna McCurdy called the weekly meeting of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order on Tuesday July 16 at 12 noon at the News China Restaurant in downtown Ada.
