FINDLAY - Five Ada track and field athletes made it to regionals at the Div. III district meet hosted by Liberty-Benton in Findlay Thursday and Saturday.

Ada senior Noah Mattson took first in the shot put, and junior Nora Dellifield finished third in the pole vault to post the top Bulldog individual finishes for the males and females.

Mattson is on a quest to return to the state meet and finish higher on the final podium.

Ada senior Miguel Jordan moved up from eighth in the 800 meter preliminary heats Thursday to finish third Saturday, clinching a return to regionals.

Bulldog Alex Morgan finished a strong third in the 300 hurdles to make it to regionals.

Junior Philip Gautier also took third in the high jump to become the fifth Ada athlete to advance to the next round.

Sophomore Brenna Hissong just missed out on regionals by one place by finishing a solid fifth in the 400 meter finals Saturday.

The Bulldog boys 4x400 relay foursome of Morgan, Gautier, Michael Crouse and Jordan finished first in preliminary heats to qualify as top seed for the finals Saturday.

But they finished sixth in the finals to miss out on regionals.

Ada senior Anabel Alexander came in 15th in the 800 meter finals. She also ran the second leg for the Lady Bulldog 4x400 relay quartet, which finished eighth.

Host Liberty-Benton won the girls district team title, while Columbus Grove edged L-B out for the boys team crown.

The Ada boys finished 10th with 31 points, while the Lady Buldlogs scored 11 points to come in 13th.

A top four finals finish qualifies an athlete or relay team to regionals next week in Tiffin.
