Universe of stories this summer at the library
“A Universe of Stories” is the theme of Ada Public Library’s 2019 Summer Reading Program.
The adventure blasts off with a huge sign-up party on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Be sure to moonwalk on over to this interstellar event at the library.
Bagpipers, steel drum musicians, performers on stilts, a clown creating out-of-this-world balloons, farm animal petting zoo, touch-a-truck emergency service and farm vehicles (if available) and a Friends of the Library Used Book sale of galactic proportion are ready to launch!
During the six weeks of summer reading prepare to suit up, take flight, and explore all things space, investigate the wonders of our universe, and learn about the solar system.
Patrons are invited to try something new: learn new facts about space and astronauts, read a new book, try a new craft, attend special events and much more! Activities will include space related crafts, programs, prize drawings, story times, games, snacks, experiments, projects, and more.
Summer reading’s flight schedule for “A Universe of Stories” runs from June 1 to July 13. You may sign up and participate any time during the six weeks. The Summer Reading calendar is full of programs for all ages with events geared toward babies and toddlers, fun sessions for elementary, middle and high school aged students and events of interest for adults, too! The program varies slightly by age and everyone can earn tickets to enter prize drawings.
Stop by the Ada Public Library (mission control) or call 419-634-5246 or visit the website at adalibrary.org (starting June 1, the website will include the calendar of all summer reading events and programs).
We hope to see you on June 1 and each stellar day thereafter to create “A Universe of Stories” during the FREE and FUN activities and events at the 2019 Ada Public Library Summer Reading Program.
All programs are offered free of charge thanks to you and to the generous donors and supporters of the Ada Public Library and the Ada Public Library Summer Reading Program as well as members/supporters of the Friends of the Ada Public Library.
