Voices of Ohio choir returns for second Ada performance
The Voices of Ohio, choral group, will return to Ada to perform in a 7 p.m., Saturday, May 18, concert at First United Methodist Church.
Melanie Caw Woods, member of the church, is also a member of the choir.
This is the choir’s second performance in Ada. At the suggestion of Melanie, the choir earlier performed a benefit concert for the church after its building burned to the ground on March 12, 2012.
That concert raised over $5,000 toward the rebuilding of the church building.
Rev. Brandi Rigsby, pastor of the congregation said, “We are excited to host The Voices of Ohio again and to extend our gratitude to them and our community for all of the support that has been offered to our church through the rebuilding process. We want to invite everyone from the community to this free event. It will be an evening of great music, fun and fellowship.”
Rigsby added that now the choir is excited to come full circle and return to sing in the new church that has been built in the ashes of the old church.
The Voices of Ohio is a professional adult vocal show group that performs a wide variety of contemporary and traditional music.
They sing music that celebrates the American heritage and spirit, with a variety of pop, rock, country, show tunes, songs of faith and patriotic music.
Members of the group have been performing for the past 40 years and have entertained millions. Kenny Rogers selected the choir to perform on nine of his “Christmas and Hits” tours, and the group members have performed before audiences throughout the world including concert halls of Europe, White House Rose Garden, “The Great White Way” in New York City, and in the Tournament of Roses Parade.
A free will offering will be taken, and light refreshments will be offered after the concert.
