Monday is the deadline for the Village of Ada to accept applications for its fiscal officer opening.

Nancy Kindle is the current part-time fiscal officer. She was hired on April 16 and works between 20 and 30 hours a week. Kindle is also the fiscal officer of the Ada-Liberty Township Joint Ambulance District and was previously fiscal officer for the Village of Bluffton.

She was hired following the dismissal of Crystal Huffer, which took place during a special council  meeting held April 12.

Huffer's dismissal was "due to misfeasance, malfeasance and nonfeasance, each of which is a  group III offense as per the Village’s Policy and Procedure Manual.”
