ONU student among 8 Ohio law students in rural summer initiative
FROM THE ONU PETTIT COLLEGE OF LAW FACEBOOK - Maggie Kimmel, L-3, was one of eight Ohio law students chosen by the Ohio State Bar Association to participate in the new Rural Summer Clerkship Initiative.
Through the program, she is working in Zanesville at Gottlieb, Johnston, Beam, and Dal Ponte, PLL.
“There are eleven attorneys who work at this general-practice firm and each one has a different focus,” she said. “I am loving the opportunity to dabble in all areas of the law so I can figure out what area I would like to focus on for my own practice after graduation.”
So far, Maggie is enjoying the business law and estate planning areas. Living two hours from home during this internship, she is appreciative of the support the rural community has provided. “I am very thankful that everyone I've met here in Zanesville has been so welcoming and helpful!”
