Lady Bulldogs blanked by Hornets

ADA - The Ada girls soccer team lost 4-0 to Cory-Rawson Wednesday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 2-7-1 with the defeat.
C-R took an early 1-0 lead but Ada nearly tied it when a Bulldog shot caromed away off the crossbar. The game went to intermission 1-0 with the Hornets ahead.
Cory scored early in half two to double their lead and didn't look back, adding two more goals before the final minutes elapsed.
C-R out-shot the Bulldogs, 18-8. Sidney Gossard made 14 saves in goal.
Ada also lost at Coldwater 2-1 on Monday. The Lady Bulldogs broke on top 1-0 at the 15-minute mark on a fine assist from Bella East to Katie Butterfield, who finished off the goal.
The Cavalier girls responded with two goals before halftime to take a 2-1 lead at intermission. Neither team scored in the second half.
"We just played even with Coldwater in the second half with no one able to score," said Bulldog head coach Doug Poling.
The Cavs out-shot Ada, 32-12. Senior Gossard made a career-high 30 saves in goal.
"We played well overall in both games, but had a couple of bad breaks that could have put us back in both games," said Poling.
Ada hosts Van Buren Wednesday, Sept. 25.
