Receives diabetes educators award
Ohio Northern University faculty member Michael Rush has been recognized for his efforts in providing high-quality health care to rural residents of the surrounding region.
Rush received the American Association of Diabetes Educators 2019 Strategic Initiative Award during the association’s recent meeting in Houston.
Rush is director of ONU HealthWise and pharmacy residency programs, as well as assistant professor of pharmacy practice in the Raabe College of Pharmacy.
ONU HealthWise delivers educational outreach and health care services to support the health and wellness of the ONU community while also offering invaluable experiential learning opportunities for the university’s pharmacy students.
A mainstay of the HealthWise efforts is the mobile health clinic, a fully-equipped bus that provides resources to regional residents in their hometowns.
An article about Rush’s award and the HealthWise outreach efforts was published in a recent edition of “Endocrine Today." CLICK HERE to read the article.
