HARROD - The Ada girls soccer team traveled to local rival Allen East and lost 3-0 in a Northwest Conference match Monday night.
The defeat dropped the Lady Bulldog record to 3-11-1 overall and 2-4-1 in NWC play. Ada tied for fourth place in the league standings with Crestview.
AE improved to 9-5-1 overall with the win and is 4-2 in the NWC, good for third place. Spencerville is first in the league race at 6-0, with Bluffton second at 5-1.
"The first half was fairly even," said Ada head coach Doug Poling. "We had a great opportunity to close the gap late in the second half but hit the crossbar."
AE took a 1-0 lead to intermission on a goal with about 10 minutes left in the first half. The Lady Mustangs doubled the lead to 2-0 10 minutes into the second half.
Ada had a chance to cut the deficit in half with 11 minutes left, but Katie Butterfield's shot caromed off the crossbar.
AE scored on the counter attack to provide the final margin of 3-0.
The Mustangs got off 16 shots to 15 by Ada. Bulldog senior keeper Sidney Gossard made 13 saves in goal.
The Lady Bulldogs finish their regular season at non-league opponent Liberty-Benton Wednesday, October 9.
