Bulldog harriers run at district meet

COLUMBUS GROVE - The Ada boys cross country team finished 10th in the 12-team Div. III district 2 meet at Columbus Grove Saturday morning.
Minster took first place with 40 points, with Parkway second (76) and Marion Local third (106). Allen East finished seventh (169), Hardin Northern eighth (184) and Ada 10th (272).
Spencerville and Lima Perry did not have the requisite five runners to field a team score.
Bulldog senior Hunter Wells finished 39th in the field of 72 runners with a season-best time of 19:46.9.
Ada sophomore Riley Ferguson came in 52nd, followed by classmate Seth Swaney in 63rd. Soph Keegan Giddens came in 68th while freshman Connor Daugherty finished 70th. Fellow freshman Xander Wells ended up 72nd.
Sophomore Alex Albers of Minster won the individual title in 16:12.7.
Sophomore Hunter Sidle posted the best Allen East finish by coming in 12th in 17:55.6 to qualify for regionals. Sophomore Aiden Gatchel of Hardin Northern finished seventh in 17:13.4 to also make it to regionals.
The top three teams and those individuals not on a qualifying team who finish in the top five positions advanced to the regional meet in Tiffin Oct. 26.
