Lady Bulldog spikers knocked off by Arlington in sectionals

ARLINGTON - Visiting Ada won the first game but lost to Arlington in a close four-set Div. IV first round volleyball sectional battle Tuesday night.
The Lady Bulldogs end their season with a 10-13 record after the tough 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 26-24 defeat. Arlington improved to 10-13 with the win.
Junior Megan Light had a fine all-around match to lead Ada. She knocked down 20 kills, came up with 16 digs, had a season-high 11 blocks and served two aces.
Junior Miranda Wills hit nine kills, hustled up 18 digs and dealt a pair of aces.
Senior libero Kendal Guagenti came up with 25 digs. Well-rounded sophomore setter Kirsten Poling passed out 23 assists, hit five kills and came up with 11 digs.
Versatile junior Aubrey Madison knocked down four kills and made four blocks. Senior Josie Poling mustered 14 digs, and junior Kylie Acheson added three blocks.
It was the last Ada match for Bulldog seniors Guagenti, Josie Poling and Kelly Preston.
Ada had beaten Arlington 2-0 back on August 31.
The Lady Red Devils advance to the sectional finals Oct. 17 against fourth-seeded MAC foe Minster (15-8).
Minster easily swept 3-17 Waynesfield 3-0 in their first round sectional mismatch Tuesday night.
