Loyd L. Ashbrook was an Army veteran
Loyd L. Ashbrook, 81, died on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at 2:51 p.m. at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on March 5, 1938, in Delaware, Ohio, to the late John and Mabel (Stockwell) Ashbrook. On Dec. 3, 1970, Loyd married Thelma I. Little and she preceded him in death on Nov. 2, 2007.
Loyd worked for the Ada Park. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1954 to 1957.
Loyd is survived by his children: Lloyd F. Ashbrook Jr. of Ada, Carl L. Ashbrook of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Tina (William) McCrary of Green Bay, Wisconsin; two grandchildren: Richard Caskey and Kaydence McCrary; and a great grandson, Aydin Caskey.
Loyd was preceded in death by an infant son.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ada Park Building, 600 S. Simon St., Ada. An inurnment of ashes will take place at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, P.O. Box 38, Ada, Ohio 45810 for the benevolence of the family.
