Vancrest's spotlight is on Pauline Shadley
Lifelong Ada resident Pauline Shadley is the November Vancrest spotlight resident, and she well deserves the honor.
In case you don’t know Pauline, she is an assisted living resident at Vancrest and is an Ada High School and Ohio Northern University graduate, having graduated with a degree in education.
What you may not know about her is that she played basketball all through her school days, making that her favorite sport.
She spent her professional career teaching fourth grade in Perry schools, Allen County.
Some of her likes include pecan pie and vanilla ice cream. Concerning favorite vacations, she and her friend, Helen, once traveled to Australia, Africa and several other countries around the world.
It’s all about the beautiful scenery and meeting many different people, she reflected in an interview in the Vancrest newsletter.
She may not be finished traveling, as she has on her bucket list to revisit Africa. She recalled in an earlier African trip she went on a safari ride.
