County chamber-business alliance accepting nominations for citizen of the year
The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Community Service Awards, Women LEAD Professional Excellence Award, Young Professional Leadership Award, and (new this year) Emerging Business Award.

Anyone from Hardin County may be nominated to receive these honors. Criteria for each award is as follows:
- Selection of Citizen of the Year will be based upon an individual's outstanding achievements and contributions which have made Hardin County better.
- To be considered for the Business of the Year award, a business or industry should give back to the community, support local business, and create or encourage job growth.
- The Community Service Award is given to an individual, group or business who has dedicated themselves to helping others and improving our community.
- To be considered for the Small Business of the Year , the business or industry must have less than 50 employees, that gives back to the community, supports local business climate, and creates or encourages economic growth.
- For the Women LEAD Excellence Award, the nominee must be female, dedicated to the values of leadership through actions, embracing personal growth, advancing career opportunities, and developing strategic relationships (LEAD).
- To be considered for the Young Professional Alliance Leadership Award, the nominee must be between 21-45 years old who is an emerging leader demonstrating excellence in collaboration, service and innovation in their profession or career field.
- The Emerging Business Award is awarded to a business that has been conducting business for 1-3 years. This business shows significant growth, community collaboration, and capital investment through revitalizing the aesthetic appeal of their business location and neighborhood. This business shows a positive impact on the economic climate of Hardin County.
