Jack Luhta 1941 - 2020
Jack H. Luhta, 78, of Frostproof, Florida passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at Advent Health, Sebring, Florida.
He was born on July 16, 1941, in Painesville, Ohio, to the late Arvid and Julia (Keeskis) Luhta and raised by Oscar Pitts. He has been a resident of the area for 13 years coming from Ohio. He was employed by Rockwell International as a welder and a member of the Frostproof Church of Christ. He was previously a member of McGuffey Church of Christ in Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Luhta.
He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Sharlene Luhta; daughter, Jacqueline Luhta of Key West, Fla.; son Michael “Mike” Luhta and his wife Kathy of Frostproof, Fla.; sisters, Nancy Taunton and her husband JT of Opelika, Ala., and Joyce Rhodes and her husband William of Opelika, Ala.; step brother, Larry Luhta and 2 grandchildren.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, with David Holbrook officiating. Burial will take place in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
