By Cort Reynolds
ADA - The Ada boys basketball team was seeded 10th out of 13 teams at the Bluffton/Van Wert Div. IV sectional drawings held Sunday.
The Bulldog boys (7-12) will take on 12th-seeded Fort Jennings Wednesday, February 26 in the second sectional semifinal at Bluffton University. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
Ada already beat FJ (2-17) by a 61-55 score at home this season back on November 30.
The Ada/FJ winner will then meet top-seeded Columbus Grove (19-0) in round two. Undefeated Grove received a first round bye into the sectional final on Friday, Feb. 28 at approximately 8 p.m. in Bluffton.
Ada will also host league rival CG Feb. 21 in the regular season finale, so they could play Grove twice in an eight-day span, if they beat FJ.
Eighth seed Crestview (9-11) takes on seventh-seeded Leipsic (10-7) in the first Bluffton sectional semifinal Feb. 26 at 6:15 p.m. The winner of that game will face third seed Delphos St. John's in the second round Feb. 28 at 6:15 in Bluffton.
The other seven-team half of the sectional will play at Van Wert for the first two rounds.
Pandora-Gilboa (7-10) will take on Continental (4-13) at VW Feb. 25, with the winner going on to play powerful Ottoville Feb. 28. Ottoville (16-3) received a first round bye and was seeded second.
Fourth-seeded Kalida (11-7) also faces Patrick Henry (2-15) Feb. 26 at Van Wert, followed that night by Lincolnview (10-9) vs. Miller City (11-6).
The four sectional winners will advance to the Elida district semifinals Tuesday, March 3. The district finals will be Friday, March 6.
