ADA__The Ada High School girls soccer team defeated visiting local rival Allen East 3-0 in their annual non-league grudge match on a warm Saturday afternoon, August 29.
Ada improved to 5-0-1 with the War Memorial Stadium win. AE dropped to 0-3 after the loss.
“I think the 1 p.m. start on a Saturday with warmer temperatures and after ending the first full week of school, it is understandable for us to be a little flat,” said head coach Doug Dewese.
ADA__The Ada High School boys soccer team scored late to beat visiting Hardin County rival Kenton 2-1 in a physical 309 Cup battle on Saturday, August 29.
Bulldog senior Andrew Allen broke through the Wildcat defense and scored with 11:41 remaining to net the game-winner.
Ada improved to 4-1 with the hard-fought win. It was the second Bulldog win over the Wildcats in the last three meetings, sandwiched around a tie last year.
Kenton fell to 2-2-1 after the defeat.
“It was a sweet win for our players and our program,” said happy Ada head coach Aaron Acheson. “Ada won the 309 Cup. Kenton got on the board fast.”

Ada has a new home-based business, Faithful Friends Cremations, operated by Patty Griffin. The business opened in July 2026 to provide area pet owners with a convenient and affordable option for cremation services.
Planning for the passing of her own dogs, which include two mastiffs, and experience working at a funeral home gave Griffin the idea to start this business. She says she wishes the idea occurred to her 30 years ago.
KENTON__The Ada High School boys golf team won the five-team Hardin County Invitational tournament by the narrowest of margins at the Kenton Memorial Park Golf Course on Saturday, August 29.
The Bulldogs edged host Kenton by one stroke (174-175) to capture the event title. Riverdale finished third (181), followed by Ridgemont (198), Hardin Northern (216). USV did not field a team.
The Bulldogs improved to 36-3 after winning the tourney.
Ada senior Brody Rister shared tournament medalist honors with Kenton’s Oliver Sneary. Each shot a nine-hole score of 40.
