MEDIA RELEASE__OhioMeansJobs Hardin County, in partnership with Apollo Career Center are offering a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training program in Kenton at the Kenton Nursing and Rehab, 117 Jacob Parrot Rd., Kenton, Ohio. The program is May 3 - 19, 2026 with classes held on Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The training may be free for eligible students.

FROM YOUTUBE__Wilson Sporting Goods has released a video explaining how the new QBX football records metrics and sends the data to the Wilson Connected app.

The QBX is marketed as a new tool for coaches and trainers.

Like the footballs, the video was made in Ada.

MEDIA RELEASE__Ohio Northern University’s College of Arts & Sciences will welcome back distinguished alumna Dr. Carla Kim, BS ’97, for the 2026 Keiser Distinguished Lectureship in Life Sciences on Tuesday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. The lecture, which takes place in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts, is free and open to the public.

Kim, a renowned researcher in lung stem cells, is Professor of Pediatrics in the Field of Regenerative Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School. Her presentation is titled “Lung Organoids: Windows to Mechanism and Therapy of Lung Disease and Cancer.”

Norman M. Welch, 1941-2026

Norman M. Welch, of rural Ada, died at the age of 84. Norm was born in Putnam County on August 28, 1941.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mearl and Ellen (Campbell) Welch, formerly of Mt. Cory, OH and by two brothers: Wayne (Deb) Welch and Nelson (Anne) Welch.
