Dogs and Bears get fit in March
Family Zumba, student health screenings, talks about vaping, mobile clinic tours and a discussion titled “Hidden in plain sight” are all part of a special health-related program in Ada schools in March.
The initiative involves Ada schools in partnership with Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise Pharmacy called Dogs and Bears Get Fit in March.
Megan Stephan, pharmacy resident at ONU, leads the program thanks to two grants from the Buckeye Health Plan and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
The initiative includes a series of fun events, educational opportunities and competitive collaborations throughout March. All programs are centered on health and wellness, with some for studentsd taking place during the school day and others for families taking place in the evening.
The calendar at the bottom of this story shows the March schedule.
