To Ada HS seniors: "You all have so much more to look forward to"
The Icon invites former residents to send greetings to Ada. Our first contributor is Matthew Scott, 1993 Ada High School grad, living in Seattle, Washington.
My message is to the seniors of Ada High School.
All of us who went to Ada HS can sympathize with what you guys are going through. Spring sports were cancelled, so those of you who were in track, baseball, soccer, etc... won't get to play your final season :(
Prom, graduation, and more have been cancelled, and you probably feel like you have been cheated out of one of the best times of your lives, which is natural.
Unfortunately we are in an unprecedented time in this country, and sacrifices like those are necessary in order to help ensure that more things in the future are not cancelled. It sucks that you guys happen to be the victims of all of this, your last year of high school.
Just remember though, this is only a small part of your lives, you all have so much more to look forward to. Whether it be college, the military, joining the workforce after graduation, or traveling, so much is ahead of you in your lives.
So, while this whole situation is very unfortunate, try and look at the bigger picture, in that there are things that are much more important than a track meet, a prom, etc... and try and make sure that each day you live is the best time of your life.
Get out and see the world if you can, experience different cultures, and we all wish you the best of luck.
