Preview: The Ohio Northern women's soccer program continues its pursuit of the 2018 OAC regular season title as the Polar Bears welcome in Baldwin Wallace Wednesday, October 3 for a conference affair in Ada ... Match time is set for 7 p.m. from Kerscher Stadium ... ONU has now won 17 consecutive OAC regular season matches dating back to the 2016 season when Northern won the last seven conference affairs of the campaign  ... The Polar Bears enter the midweek contest sporting a 7-2-0 overall record and a 1-0-0 league record after defeating Marietta 4-0 on the road last Saturday.

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 is looking for snowplow drivers and will hold three hiring events to find them.

The schedule of events is as follows:
• Wednesday, Oct. 3, from noon to 6 p.m. at the ODOT District 1 office, 1885 N. McCullough St., Lima.

• Wednesday, Oct. 10, noon to 6 p.m. at the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage, 2340 Baltimore Rd., Defiance.

• Tuesday, Oct. 16, 3 to 7 p.m. at the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage, 1645 Lima Ave., Findlay.

Interested applicants may apply for a total of 36 temporary positions available in Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot counties.

Ohio Northern University student Colin Lombardi of Milan, Ohio, has been sworn in as president of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA).

 

The national organization represents more than 4,600 members and 92 chapters nationally, and its mission is to serve undeserved and promote minority student pharmacists. Lombardi, a fourth-year pharmacy major.

 

Beyond his academic pursuits, Lombardi is a former kicker on the ONU football team and a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

Ada Kroger grocery store was closed.

Leo Wright was the store manager. With the closing Ada was left with the Don Lehman Supermarket in the 100 block of North Main Street and the Claude Harris IGA Foodliner at the south limits of the village.

Doyle Paugh operates a neighborhood market at 411 South Main, and John Elwood Equity store at 225 North Main Street.
