Joel Penton, who played football for five years on Ohio State championship teams, will speak at the Grace Gospel Church worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30. He is a motivational speaker with a relevant, positive message, especially for youth.

Penton was a member of 3 Big Ten championship teams, a member of a national championship team, and 4-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. He turned down an opportunity to play NFL football and begin a career in full-time speaking.

From Blanchard Valley Health Foundation

Blanchard Valley Health Foundation (BVHF) recently granted more than $38,000 to Caughman Health Center, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System that provides family practice and pediatric care to area residents, regardless of their ability to pay.

The grant funds were used to purchase pediatric hearing equipment, ultrasound power tables for patient rooms, 10 exam beds, and chairs for both visitors and associates. 

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Ohio Northern men's soccer team defeated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference member Anderson (Ind.) 5-1 at AU Soccer Stadium in Anderson, Indiana on Friday afternoon, giving head coach Brent Ridenour his 300th career coaching victory and pushing the team's current winning streak to four games.

Coach Ridenour now owns a 300-117-35 career coaching record (a win percentage of .702) in his 21 seasons at Ohio Northern, ranking him as the winningest coach in school history. He also becomes the first soccer coach (men's or women's) at ONU to reach the 300 coaching victories milestone. 

Joan Wagner and the Plaza Inn, Mt. Victory, will be hosting the second All Out for the United Way of Hardin County on Monday, Sept. 24. The restaurant will donate a portion of their receipts for the day for this year?s campaign to benefit the 21 non profit agencies in Hardin County. United Way appreciates all of the support throughout the county.

KENTON-Hardin County Soroptimist International participated in the parade for the Ada Harvest and Herb festival on Saturday. Not only did the club celebrate the festival, but also celebrated the KENTON-Hardin Co. Soroptimist International 50th year membership of member Eve Johnson-Timmons.
