ONU law grad receives Marion County judgeship appointment
Ohio Northern University law graduate Larry N. Heiser was appointed to serve as a judge on the Marion County Family Court, in an announcement made by Governor DeWine's office.
Heiser of Marion, will assume office on July 13, and must run for election on Nov. 3, for the remainder of the term ending Feb. 8, 2023.
Heiser is replacing Judge Deborah Alspach, who retired from the Marion County Family Court on Feb. 1, 2020.
Heiser received his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and his law degree from Ohio Northern University. He currently is in private practice.
Heiser served as acting judge in the Marion Municipal Court, and as a Magistrate for the Marion Municipal Court. Heiser is a member of the Marion County Bar Association, Marion County Bar Association Probate Committee, Marion County Law Library Committee, JDAI Assessment Team, and NCORC Advisory Board. He is also co-chair of the Marion County Bar Association Family Law Committee.
