Donald Varner 1953 - 2020
Donald A. Varner, 67, died on Friday, July 17, 2020, at 7:20 p.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on May 5, 1953, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late Leigh and Leabelle (Baier) Varner. Donald married Kay L. Dysert and she preceded him in death on June 3, 2016.
Donald worked as a millwright for Industrial Movers of Kenton. He was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are three sons: Scott Alexander of Elida, Brandon (Erika) Alexander of Alger and Jake (Ashley) Varner of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren; two brothers: Roy (Sandy) Varner of Arizona and John (Kathy) Varner of Ashland; and three sisters: Vada Morris of Arizona, Nancy Rogers of South Carolina and Norma (Ken Chamberlain) Peloquin of Bellefontaine.
Donald was preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Hare and Deb Furr.
Attendance will be restricted at the funeral and visitation based on space to accommodate social distancing requirements. The family and funeral home requests face coverings be worn while attending visitation and service.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, private family services are being held with Pastor Mark Andreasen officiating.
Burial of cremains will be held at a later date. The funeral service for Donald will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
Memorial contributions may be made to Assembly of God Church at 7050 State Route 235, Alger, Ohio 45812.
