Otterbein grad named ONU men's assistant basketball coach
Nick Nossaman has been named an assistant men's basketball coach at Ohio Northern.
Nick comes to Ohio Northern after spending the past two seasons at Valdosta State (Ga.) as a graduate assistant, helping the Blazers to a 50-11 record, two Gulf South Conference regular season championships and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.
He started his collegiate playing career at Wooster, where he played for two seasons, before transferring to Otterbein for his final two years of his career.
Nossaman is from Powell, Ohio, and graduated from Olentangy Liberty in 2013 where he played for his father, Greg. He helped the Patriots to a pair of Ohio Capital Conference titles during his prep career.
He still holds Liberty's single-season assists record with 123 assists. He also previously held the school's 3-pointer records for a game (6) and season (55).
Nossaman graduated from Otterbein in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in history and earned his master's degree in higher education leadership from Valdosta State in 2020.
"Nick will bring a lot of energy to the program," ONU head coach Rich Bensman said. "He has a strong history of working with and training players at a high level. Nick has a good pedigree in basketball growing up in a basketball family with his father being a long time high school coach in Ohio."
