ADA__The Ada High School girls soccer team scored four second half goals to break a tie and beat defense-minded foe Fort Jennings 5-1 in the home opener at War Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, August 20.
The Bulldog girls improved to 3-0 with the decisive non-league victory, while FJ fell to 0-2 with the defeat.
Ada senior Alex Gibson tallied two goals to pace the victors.

In 1970, Gordon Lightfoot released his chart topping gold record If You Could Read My Mind. Lightfoot was a prolific singer-songwriter with many major accomplishments in the music industry. Besides being honored on a Canadian stamp, Lightfoot was in the opening ceremonies for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada. Bob Dylan praised Lightfoot for his ability to write beautiful lyrics.

Ricky Hattery has been a fan of truck and tractor pulls since he was a little boy. The Vancrest of Ada resident was thrilled to be recognized as the 2025 F&M Picnic Pull Super Fan on Saturday, August 9. Attending the event with other residents, Hattery was recognized over the PA system and presented with a framed memento of the occasion.
FROM APD FACEBOOK ON AUG 20__The Ada Police Department has issued an appeal for assistance in locating 29-year-old Alyssa J. McClain, who was last seen on July 25, 2025, in Lima, Ohio.
The police department asks all to share this announcement.
McClain is a white female with green eyes and blonde hair. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds.
