By Cort Reynolds
MARION - The Ada girls soccer team earned their first win with a 5-2 victory at Marion Harding Saturday afternoon.
The victory upped the Lady Bulldog record to 1-2.
Kiah Hefner and Brenna Hissong scored two goals apiece to lead the Ada attack. Ella Marshall tallied the other goal.
The Bulldogs led 2-1 at the half, and outscored MH 3-1 after intermission.
"It is such a surreal feeling to have my first win, but the credit has to go to the girls," said first-year Ada head coach A.J. Wahlie.
"We keep getting better every time we step on the field, and that's a tribute to their dedication," he added.
The Ada offense fired 24 shots while the hosts managed to get off 10 shots.
Bulldog junior keeper Olivia Green was credited with eight saves.
Ada kicks off Northwest Conference play by hosting local rival Allen East Monday, August 31 at 5 p.m.
"We have another opportunity Monday to keep getting better, and that has to be the main focus for us," said Wahlie.
