Ada girl kickers fall to Knights
By Cort Reynolds
ADA - The Ada girls soccer team lost 4-2 to visiting league foe Crestview Tuesday evening at the park pitch.
The loss dropped the Lady Bulldog record to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in Northwest Conference play.
After a slow start, the Lady Knights scored four unanswered goals to win and improve to 4-2 and 1-1 in NWC play.
Ada led 1-0 after a goal from freshman forward Karmen Hall. But Crestview responded by scoring twice to grab a 2-1 lead at intermission.
The Knights extended the lead to 4-1 before freshman Ella Marshall netted a goal for the hosts with just 17 seconds remaining.
Ironically, her score came just 14 seconds after Marshall had a goal disallowed by an off-sides call.
The Lady Bulldogs were forced to compete with just 10 players over the final 20 minutes due to a leg injury suffered by senior Kylie Shafer.
Ada (1-2 away) plays at league foe Columbus Grove (4-3, 3-0 NWC) Monday, September 21.
Crestview plays at non-league foe Ft. Jennings Thursday, Sept. 17.
