The Rhodes State Police Academy is accepting applications for its Fall full-time Academy.
Academy classes are scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 17, and will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with some Saturday and Sunday sessions ending in mid-January.
Students interested in joining the Academy must first pass a physical fitness test. Please email inquiry to Bill Joseph at [email protected] to schedule this initial physical fitness test. Once the fitness test is passed, then students can begin the formal registration process with Rhodes State.

What is a DO?
When you go to see your doctor you may notice some letters following their name, but have you ever wondered what they mean? Physicians in the United States receive one of two degrees upon completion of medical school, either an MD or a DO. So, what is the difference?
Most people are familiar with a MD or Medical Doctor, but would you be surprised to know that nearly 1 in 4 current medical students is working toward their DO rather than an MD.
Ada High School senior, Courtney “CoCo” McLaughlin is one of four Hardin County student volunteers of the year.
The announcement was made today by the Kenton Elks. McLaughlin joins other county seniors, Megan Miller of Hardin Northern, Aubrey Thrush of Kenton and Kelsey Stainfield of Ridgemont.
The four Hardin County winners will advance to the District level next.
Among volunteer activities of CoCo included leading the Ada First United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School last summer. At Ada High School she was a ‘Dog’s Volunteer, where she helped teachers in classrooms.

"We are open for business," reports Dan Garver. "We are here at this time for furniture reupholstering, repairs, foam replacement, and retail of medical equipment such as Lift Chair Recliners."
He added that the business is equipped with face masks, hand sanitizer and social distancing.
