AAA 3 host ONU mobile health clinic in Lima Oct. 16
The Area Agency on Aging 3 will host a Mobile Health Clinic on Friday, Oct. 16, from 9-11 a.m. in its parking lot at 2423 Allentown Road, Lima, across from Wal-Mart, according to Dre White, AAA3 health education coordinator.
Free health screenings will be provided by the Ohio Northern University HealthWise.
ONU HealthWise will provide flu vaccines, bone density scans and blood pressure checks. HealthWise consists of students from ONU and licensed medical staff who deliver educational outreach and health care services to support the health and wellness in the community.
Pre-registration is required for the Mobile Health Clinic. To reserve a spot, contact White at 567-204-6900.
“Governor DeWine has recently reminded Ohioans of the importance of getting a flu shot this year. This is a great opportunity to do so," said White.
"The high-dose flu vaccine for those 65 years and older will be available. Along with the flu vaccines, free screenings such as bone density checks and blood pressure checks will also be available."
White said, “We would also like to remind those who are elderly and need help getting to their physician's office to contact AAA3 to access transportation resources through our Find A Ride Program and find out what other services may be beneficial to them at 419-222-7723.”
Call the agency at 419-222-7723 Monday-Friday 8 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. to ask about services available to them.
