Funeral service on Tuesday for Lucy Rowe
Lucy Dyer Rowe, 88 passed away on Friday Nov. 20, at 7:05 p.m. at her home in Alger, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 19, 1932, in Jump, Ohio, to the late Seward and Mary (Hurt) Dyer. Lucy married Abe Rowe on Nov. 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 3, 2015.
Lucy was a homemaker. She also traveled with her husband Abe as they evangelized and spread the gospel of Jesus. They traveled in a bus they had remodeled and touched many lives. Lucy was also a pastor's wife when Abe was the Pastor of Quickstep Church. Lucy continued to play a role in ministry alongside Abe when they became members of Ada Full Gospel. Lucy was known by many for her faithfulness and prayer life. Lucy has spent many hours in prayer for her family and for friends who would come calling on her for help. Of all the things Lucy was, she was a prayer warrior.
She is survived by her children: Rocky (Vickie) Rowe of Cairo, Sonja (Virgil) Dye of Alger, Fred (Kathy) Rowe of Wapakoneta, and Paul (Erin) Rowe of St Marys; four granddaughters: Stacy Dye of Ada, Jennifer (Garrett) Fleming of Ada, Amber (Nick) Simon of Ada, and Adaleigh Rowe of Alger; and a grandson Lucas (Kiley) Rowe of Ada; 10 great grandchildren: Brittany (Chad) Hayes, Caity (Kyle) Bassit, Landon Simon, Layne Simon, Lincoln Simon, Juliette Simon, Sophie Fleming, Gabbie Fleming, and Izzie Fleming, and Nova Rowe of Ada, and one great great granddaughter Harper Hayes; four siblings: Frank Dyer of Alger, Ruby Holbrook of Ada, Ruth (Ron) Dye-Nichols of Dola, and Rosemary (Danny) Miller.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Bridgette Wayleen and siblings: Chalmer Dyer, Morton Dyer (Rosie Whitaker Dyer), Ressie Robirds, and Ray Dyer.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Ada Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of God, Ada, with Rev. Karen Rarey officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Ada Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of God, Ada.
