All Ohio Northern University Commencements on May 8 and May 9 will move indoors due to an unseasonably inclement weather forecast.
“When we made the decision to hold in-person commencements outdoors, rain or shine, that made sense until a few days ago when the forecast for Sunday, May 9, predicted very steady wet and cold conditions could negatively impact both ceremonies on that day. Obviously, it was time to reconsider ‘rain or shine,’” explains President Daniel DiBiasio.
A building expansion is underway this spring at Vancrest of Ada. According to the Vancrest Facebook, the addition will be completed soon. Occupancy is expected to open within the next three months.
The project involves:
• Six rooms added to the long-term nursing side. Four of the rooms will be semi-private, and the other two will be private, making a total of 10 new beds.
• Assisted living is adding eight rooms. Four of those rooms are one-bedroom apartments, and the four are efficiency suites.
Persons interested in discussion current room availability may call Vancrest at (419)558-1379 to set up a tour.

KENTON - The Ada tennis team climbed over the .500 mark for the first time this season with a 3-2 win at Hardin County rival Kenton under overcast skies Tuesday evening.
The Bulldogs are now 8-7 after registering their sixth win in eight matches. "We won by our usual strong singles play," said Ada head coach Dexter Woods.
Senior Miranda Wills improved to 10-4-1 this season with a convincing two-set win at first singles over Wildcat senior Cameron Zickafoose.
"Miranda got off the courts first by fending off big-serving Cameron with her ever-improving attack and volley game," said coach Woods.

The snow fell in a month with temperatures reaching extremes of 83 degrees on April 27 to 19 degrees on April 2 – a 64-degree range.
To make the month even more interesting, April 2021’s average daily temperature was 51.4 degrees, higher than the April normal average of 49.7 degrees.
April’s daily weather summery follows in the chart below.
