Richard Werling was retired from Ford, Lima
Richard W. Werling, Sr., 93, passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at 11:51 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1927, in Lima to the late Edwin and Grace (Jackson) Werling. On Aug.11, 1949, Richard married Gladys LaPoint and she passed away on March 4, 2013.
Richard retired after 30 years from Ford Motor Company, Lima. He was also a farmer.
Richard is survived by six sons: Richard (Diana) Werling, Jr. of Waynesfield, Neil (Pam) Werling of Waynesfield, Dale (Lucinda) Werling of Danville, Indiana, Robert (Annette) Werling of Harrod, Gary (Becky) Werling of Harrod, and Ed (Angie) Werling of Waynesfield; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Monica Werling and Sonya Kitzmiller; one brother: James Werling; and three sisters: Rhoda Underwood, Mary Louise Ring; and Lois Daley.
Attendance will be restricted at the funeral and visitation based on space to accommodate social distancing requirements. Face coverings must be worn while attending visitation and service.
Private family services will be held at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada. Burial will take place at Salem Cemetery, Westminster with military rites provided by the Ada VFW Post # 9381.
The funeral service for Richard will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Fire and Rescue Squad and/or Putnam County Hospice.
