Ada boys out-swim Sidney Lehman
By Cort Reynolds
LIMA - The Ada varsity swim teams competed in a four-team meet at the Lima YMCA Friday evening.
The Bulldog boys defeated Sidney-Lehman Catholic 28-17 to post the lone Ada win in the three boys and girls dual meets. The Lady Bulldogs lost three close dual meets despite some fine individual finishes.
"Overall, we were happy with how everyone swam," said Ada first-year head coach Katey Stuart. "This is usually the point in the season where we're most tired, so lifetime best times aren't expected.
"We had a couple of season-best times tonight, so that was a great surprise," she added. "We're excited to see how the team will swim at the end of the season."
Sophomore ace Carlie Oldfield won two races to lead the Ada girls. Senior Paige Cole touched first in one race and was second in another.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Bowden swam to second place in two events. All three girls swam a leg for the winning 200 freestyle relay team, along with sophomore Kayla Wince.
Ada freshman Jack Baumgartner took third in the 200 free to lead the Bulldog boys.
