As the NFL playoffs continue, Ada will again have its own Super Bowl extravaganza.
The second annual “Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival” on Saturday, Feb. 3, will celebrate the village of Ada’s connection to the biggest football game of the year. Ada’s Wilson Sporting Goods factory makes the footballs used in the Super Bowl, and the day’s events will again capture that theme, leading up to a “football drop” at midnight on the cusp of Super Bowl Sunday.
Norma J. Guthrie, 77, passed away January 14, 2018 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. Norma was born November 20, 1940 in Cambridge, Ohio to the late Roy and Eva (Stiles) Shelton. On February 2, 1958 he married Harold "Gus” Guthrie who survives in Ada.

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team posted a 160-120 victory over Mount Union in a rare Sunday afternoon meet at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium.
The Polar Bears improve to 3-1 overall and are 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with the victory, while the Purple Raiders fall to 4-2, 1-2.
Senior Sydney Veon (Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) led the Polar Bears with four victories on the afternoon.
In a span of about 10 minutes, Veon won the 100 breast in 1:08.63 and the 50 free in :25.66. Later in the meet she won the 100 free in :56.56.
