You probably never thought you'd see your teachers working behind the counter at McDonald's, but it's going to happen...for a good cause, to raise money for the Ada and Upper Scioto Schools.
About a dozen elementary teachers from each school will compete at Ada McDonald's to see which school has the highest sales during a set time. A percentage of all sales goes to the schools.
Ada teachers will be at McDonalds from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 9 while USV teachers' shift is the same time on Monday, Oct. 16.
Teachers will welcome customers, handle order taking and cashiering, and hand out food orders in the dining area and drive thru.
There are races for Liberty Township trustee and Ada Village council in the upcoming Nov. 7 election. There are three candidates for two spots on the township board. There are four open places on the council with five candidates. All registered voters of Ada and Liberty Township vote for township trustee while only Ada North and South precincts vote for council. Here is who is running:

Last Sunday was a day of righteous, widespread protest in the NFL.
Many teams linked arms during the National Anthem, while some individual players kneeled, sat or stretched as it was played before kickoff. A handful of teams stayed in the locker room.
The civil protest stemmed from former San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick’s demonstration over a year ago, when he kneeled during the National Anthem to protest police brutality and the oppression of African-Americans in America.
This is Gracie, an AKC registered, three-year-old Old English Sheep Dog who is adoptable through the OhioSPCA/Allen County Humane Society. With her are Drew Ridgway, a member of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) fraternity, and Kathy Hatcher of the Society. The brothers of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and sisters of Zeta Tau Delta sorority teamed up Saturday to sponsor an event to encourage adopting dogs and sold food on a grill to raise money for the Society. The Society has about 60 dogs and 200 cats to find forever homes for.

Ada opened up a 14-0 first quarter lead last Friday and never trailed in the game, defeating the visiting Columbus Grove Bulldogs 37-0 on Homecoming night.
Senior Aaron Everhart had a big game, hauling in three touchdown receptions to go along with a 20-yard field goal. The shut-out conference victory moves Ada to 2-1 in the Northwest Conference, and 4-2 overall.
The potent Ada offense started the scoring early as Senior Aaron Everhart plunged in for a 2-yard touchdown on the Bulldog’s opening drive. His point after kick put Ada in front, 7-0 with 7:11 left in the opening quarter.
Roland Eugene Snare died at 2:55 p.m. Sept. 29, 2017, at the Bluffton Hospital. Roland Eugene “Gene” Snare was born March 12, 1925, to Roland D. and Carey (Harding) Snare who preceded him in death.
Gene graduated from Ada High School in 1943 and enlisted in the Army where he served from 1943 - 1946 in the Asiatic Pacific - Philippines. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #382 - Bluffton.
