ADA - Despite a record-setting performance by senior Melina Woods, the Ada volleyball team lost a tough four-setter to visiting Ben Logan Monday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 3-3 with the 29-27, 18-25, 25-16, 25-14 non-league defeat. Traditional power BL improved to 3-1 with the win.
Woods broke her own school single-match record for kills with 38 vs. the Raiders. She had set the previous mark of 35 last year against rival Allen East in only three sets.
Jon E. Sprague, R.Ph., Ph.D., director and BCI Eminent Scholar at the Ohio Attorney General’s Center for the Future of Forensic Science at Bowling Green State University, and a leading authority on Ecstasy research, will be speaking at the University of Findlay from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 in the Davis Street Building, Room 2225.
Sprague’s presentation, “The Neurobiology of Substance-Use Disorders,” will be part of the fall semester pharmacy course, free for all campus and community members, titled “Combating Chemical Dependence: A Community Effort.” The course, with weekly classes, is offered as an elective for credit and to members of the community at no charge.
"This book is perfect for the pure-mathematics-minded educator in a small undergraduate college as well as graduate students and advanced undergraduate students looking for a significant high-impact learning experience in mathematics.”
A research monograph written by Mihai Caragiu, Ph.D., professor of mathematics and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Ohio Northern University, was recently released.
“Sequential Experiment with Primes” (Springer Nature, 2017) is designed for fellow educators and advanced mathematics students.
Fittingly, it reflects Caragiu’s work with ONU students.
“It is an extension of my research done at ONU that also involved our undergraduates,” he explained.
You've stopped many times as this orange and black monster zips through Ada. The Icon took these photos while a freight was switching cars at the farmers elevator.
